For reducing anxiety / calming down, I like klonopin (clonazepam) better than xanax (alprazolam). Xanax Im finding that Klonopin is no longer working for me, a family member is on Xanax and during an anxiety attack it actually calmed me down and I felt better. I actually drove on a highway this past weekend! Yea! (Maybe don't wait until next appt if it's longer than a 10 office days out) About Xanax, it has a much shorter halflife than CLONAZAPAM (Klonopin). Xanax, from what I can conclude, is used more with short term anxiety dx; but I'm NOT a Dr. In my own experience, I was taken off Xanax & placed on Klonopin. Klonopin (Clonazepam). 16%. Our highway to nightmare was paved with Xanax (and Klonopin, and Ativan like You are able to pay the cereal anyway your lender affirmation And doctors are doling it like chocolate First Valium Xanax, and finally Klonopinsupposedly to such things as lorazepam -- or Ativan or the more.

Clonazepam comes in a 2 mg tablet and an oral disintegrating tablet to be dissolved in the mouth. Sure you can go med free, which I've done, to prove to yourself that anxiety can't hurt you and there is nothing to fear (blah blah blah) - BUT my life truly was misery with this approach. What's the point, I told myself, of proving I can tough it out. Left unchecked anxiety can spin you into fearing all kinds of silly stuff - doctor/dentist visits, flying, being stuck in traffic, shopping .... Klonopin kills the deep down anxiety. Oh - and if all you have is anxiety (no depression) - stay far far away from the antidepressants......some friendly advice.
Klonopin isn't to be used everyday for years on end. I take it for my panic attacks, AS NEEDED!! I don't take one everyday, or every other day, I even go a week without taking it. It should depend on your anxiety, not a doctor telling u to take it daily. And my doctor agrees with this method. I've been on it for about 3-4 months now and have no issues (as long as I don't have my attacks) when I don't take it for days or weeks. Also, I take 1mg for my attacks and I only take more if my anxiety doesn't calm down! Unless you can't leave your house without freaking out.. no one should be on 3-4 mgs a day. If this is you, I'd recommend a new doctor or maybe start looking into other preventative meds or natural therapies to help so you can stop it
