I have found in many patients who suffer from chronic pain that the longer it lasts, it causes them as much mental strain along with physical strain. So what is chronic pain? Chronic pain is pain that extends to a long period of time. It could go on for months, or sometimes for years. So what are the causes of chronic pain amongst most of my patients? It could be a wide variety of reasons. Maybe you have chronic back pain because of having a poor posture for years at a time. Some of the patients are involved in jobs that involve heavy lifting. So improper lifting of heavy loads for a long period of time could put extreme pressure on your back leading to chronic back pain. Other factors involve being overweight, curvature of spine, recovery from heavy injuries, and poor sleeping posture amongst others. Lot of my patients complain that acetaminophen and Tylenol does not give them effective pain management. So sometimes I prescribed Hydrocodone acetaminophen 5-325 tablets. It was found to have given them much stronger pain management and they could regain normality in their life. What to avoid?
Never drink alcohol while about to take this medicine as acetaminophen reacts if combined with alcohol and could lead to liver failure. Avoid taking this medication if you have used a monoamine oxidize inhibitor within the past fortnight. Before using this medication inform your doctor if you suffer from certain symptoms like liver disease/cirrhosis or if you are a heavy drinker, bowel obstruction/constipation, low BP, dehydration, recent history of stroke/brain tumor or head injuries.
Side effects
Hydrocodone side effects include drowsiness, upset stomach/constipation, headache, dry mouth and blurred vision.
