Insomnia can be well defined as lack of sleep or difficulty in sleeping, despite proper scope and time to sleep, which leads to debilitated daytime liveliness. When Insomnia advances, it is beyond the bounds of possibility to abolish the sleeping disruption unless one chooses the right way to recovery. If not taken care instantly, it can give rise to major health problems. Whenever, any sign of restlessness, stress, anxiety, sleeplessness, jitters, or depression observed then it’s the high time to get help.
Insomnia can occur at any age but it is more usual in adults. As the age of a person increases, the sleeplessness becomes more frequent. People who have experienced severe emotional trauma are most likely to be affected from this sleeping disorder. Headaches, lethargy, sleeplessness, restlessness, irritability, and social cut off are some of the problems which persist when a person faces insomnia. Transient Insomnia that lasts a week or less Short-term Insomnia in which the symptoms persist more than one week and goes up to three weeks;
Chronic Insomnia which may last more than three weeks. The treatment of this disorder mostly depends on the cause of the problem. If the Insomnia is occurring because of a certain temporary problem, it can be recovered as soon as the person is out of that particular situation. For instance, if the Insomnia is connected to a stressful and tensed situation, such as, upcoming evaluation, or upcoming seminar, then the disorder will be cured as soon as the evaluation or say seminar or any such temporary situation is over.
A person with this sleep disorder needs a medical attention if the symptoms persist more than three to four weeks. But to the best of my knowledge, medications used to cure Insomnia come along with frequent intricacies and aftereffects, and very few of them cure the disorder. Many of the medicines only direct us to the symptoms of insomnia and fail to help us recover from the underlying problem. It’s much better to consult to a therapist for Insomnia. It’s a way better to cure Insomnia, unlike, taking drugs which gives a little bit of transient relief, sometimes makes the condition even worse. Some of the common therapies to treat Insomnia are:
* Sleep as much needed, do not overdo it; avoid pushing yourself to sleep.
* Make your own schedule to decide your time to get in and out of the bed and follow it strictly. Once u are used to it, even Insomnia (the so called foe to sleep) can’t restrict you.
* Exercise Daily.
So, avoid thinking of Insomnia as a disease. Today it is a common sleeping disorder affecting every age group. It can be recovered easily by attaining healthy living habits. Don’t worry, be happy is the mantra. Avoid taking your worries to bed, i.e. resolve the problems, and complete the task you are worried about before going to bed. Remember, more worries are directly proportional to less sleep!
